Product information
Cashmere is famously known as "soft gold." The difference between cashmere and wool: wool comes from sheep, cashmere comes from goats. Fiber characteristics: the fiber diameter of cashmere is smaller than wool, the texture is more delicate and soft, and the scale structure of cashmere is smaller, making its thermal performance better than wool. Wool fibers are relatively thick, hard in texture, and not as warm as cashmere. Production: cashmere production is much lower than wool; each goat produces only a few dozen grams of cashmere a year, while the average sheep produces 10 to 18 kilograms of wool a year. Heat preservation: the warmth of cashmere is 4 to 8 times that of wool, mainly due to the hollow structure of cashmere fiber and its small scales, which better lock in air to form an insulating layer. Skin affinity and hygroscopicity: cashmere is more skin-friendly than wool and has stronger moisture absorption. Cashmere sweaters are the most absorbent of all textile fibers, and while wool is also fairly absorbent, it is still slightly inferior compared to cashmere. Cashmere fibers are hollow while wool fibers are solid, making cashmere lighter, softer, and warmer than wool.
