Svbony Variable Polarizing Filter Review Author:Krishna Kumar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyBPcf_z-cE&t=17s SVBONY 1.25'' Filter Variable Polarizing for Astronomy Monocular Telescope & Eyepiece Filter Excellent Quality A customizable way to reduce brightness and glare on the brightest celestial objects like the Moon, Venus, and bright double stars Adjust the level of light transmission from 1-40% for the best possible view for your specific target and current viewing conditions Simple to use—just rotate filter’s lower ring to adjust brightness Threads onto any 1.25” eyepiece Features: 1.The Svbony 1.25-inch variable Polarizing filter acts like a dimmer switch for your telescope. 2.Adjust the amount of light transmission from 1% to 40% by rotating the filter housing. 3.Reduces brightness of the Moon or planets for great clear viewing. 4.Finer control of the image brightness compared to a standard fixed-transmission telescope filter for optimal performance. 5.Fit standard sized 1.25" eyepieces and accessories. 6.Premium quality metal rim and optics glass lens. 7.Sturdy plastic case included. Specifications: 1.Brand: SVBONY 2.Model: SV128 3.Type: Variable Polarizing Filter 4.Material: Optical glass lens + Aluminum Frame 5.Shape: Round 6.Barrel diameter: 1.25'' 7.Thread Standard: M48*0.75 8.Weight: 1.258g / 0.99oz Note: The filters of SVBONY are not designed for sun observation. Do not look at the sun with SVBONY filter. You would be blind if you fail to observe the warning. When you want to selectively reduce the brightness of celestial objects for a customized view, the Variable Polarizing Filter is the perfect choice. Unlike regular Moon Filters and Neutral Density Filters, the level of brightness can be reduced to just 1% or as much as 40%. To make the adjustment, simply rotate the filter’s lower ring and the image gets brighter or dimmer. This filter does not alter the color of the object you’re observing, making it a great choice for astroimaging, especially when imaging the surface of the Moon. By reducing the brightness, lunar details become more pronounced and defined. This filter can also be used to darken the blue-sky background when hunting for planets like Venus or Jupiter in the daylight, making the planet stand out from the background. The Variable Polarizing filter threads onto any SVBONY 1.25” eyepiece. Question:Mine don't reduce the light to anywhere remotely near 1%. Do yours? Answer:Per the description, this polarized filter offers "light reduction rate FROM 1% to 40%". It Does Not say that it reduces light "TO" 1%. to 40%. Those are two Very different statements.
